Notes:
CAUTION: Using this form is optional
but if any Product or Product Option does not have a positive quantity
and / or is set to Not on Sale then it may become unavailable for
sale to the customer. If in doubt, enter 1000 for all quantities.
If Product Options are available:
- Enter quantities, and optionally barcodes, for all the posible
product variations.
- Enter a quantity of 0 and set On Sale to "Yes" to delete the
stock entry and barcode from the list. The deleted product option
will remain available in the website drop-down options list and
WILL remain available to the customer. This is because any option
not controlled by the stock manager is automatically allowed to
be on sale.
- Enter a quantity of "x" (lowercase) to delete the stock entry
and barcode from the list. The deleted product option will remain
available in the website drop-down options list and WILL remain
available to the customer. This is because any option not controlled
by the stock manager is automatically allowed to be on sale.
- Enter a quantity of 0 and set On Sale to "No" to retain the stock
entry and barcode in the list. Depending on the stock manager configuration
settings, the option will either be removed from sale to the customer,
marked as Not on Sale or continue to be available for sale.
- Enter a negative Quantity to retain the stock entry and barcode
in the list. Depending on the stock manager configuration settings,
the option will either be removed from sale to the customer, marked
as Not on Sale or continue to be available for sale.
- Either the Quantity or Barcode can be individually updated -
simply leave the other box empty.
If Product Options are NOT available:
- The boxes above will simply reflect the product quantity and
barcode entered in the normal product edit / update form.
- Enter a negative Quantity to retain the stock entry and barcode
in the list. Depending on the stock manager configuration settings,
the option will either be removed from sale to the customer, marked
as Not on Sale or continue to be available for sale.
About the Stock Control:
- The total product quantity will automatically be updated to the
sum of all the product stock. Negative stock will be ignored in
this total.
- As items are sold, the Product and / or Product Options stock
quantity will be reduced.
- If the Product Options is set to "Remove from sale whe sold out",
then depending on the stock manager configuration settings, the
option will either be removed from sale to the customer, marked
as Not on Sale or continue to be available for sale.
- If the Stock Manager settings are set to Monitor Low Stock then
when a Product or Product Option stock quantity reaches zero or
less, it will no longer be available for sale.
About the Barcodes:
- To enter barcodes, place your mouse in the barcode box and scan
in the barcode.
- The Barcode is optional and will have no impact on what the customer
sees. It's role is simply to help search for the Product and /
or Product Options in the admin.
- Barcodes do not have to be unique, you can use the same barcode
for several products or options. But, of course, you can only use
one barcode per Product or Product Option.
- A Product or Product Option that is not given a Barcode will
still be available to the customer at checkout.
- To barcode a whole Product where one or more Product Options
exist (e.g. to aid searching for the total product grouping) enter
a barcode using the normal Product edit / update form.
The Input Buttons:
- The button called "Add/Update-ITEM" (or "Update-ITEM" in the
case of a product without any options) will add, update or delete
(by using a zero quantity) one item at a time as required. A positive
quantity or barcode must be entered.
- Some items may pick up the default values shown in Stock Manager
Settings if they have not been manually entered. These items would
not normally be set to zero if a positive value exists in Stock
Manager Settings. However, to set to zero either change the Product
Defaults first or enter a lowercase "x" (See next bullet point).
- To ease data input, some minor items such as the Item Cost or
Re-order Quantity, will ignore the default zero value and so not
change. This is to allow you to just enter values for the key fields.
In this case, enter a positive stock quantity in the "In Stock" field
and a lowercase "x" in the field you want to set to zero.
- The button called "Remove-Strikeouts" will remove all the unwanted
stock items that are shown as "Striked-out".
- You should only use this if you don\’t intend to "re-activate" the
deleted options in the Product Edit module by removing the "X".
- If you do "Remove-Strikeouts", then later re-activate the
options in the product edit page, you will of course need to
re-create the missing stock options.
- The button called "Add/Update-ALL" will automatically add all
the possible stock combinations with the value you enter in the
boxes.
- It doesn’t matter which options are selected, the result
will be the same.
- This option will delete all the existing stock options, if
any are shown, and replace them with the new options.
- Plus it will remove any unwanted "Striked Out" options as
above.
- It can also be used to add a Zero or negative quantity (ie.
using a zero quantity will not delete the options, just update
them).
